Aire acondicionado portátil

For Della’s current portable AC range, choose by SACC / DOE capacity and room size. The 12,000 BTU ASHRAE model provides 8,000 BTU SACC for rooms up to 350 sq. ft., while the 14,000 BTU ASHRAE models provide about 10,000–10,100 BTU SACC for rooms up to 450 sq. ft.

A typical portable air conditioner uses about 700–1,500 running watts depending on its BTU size and efficiency.

General wattage range:

• Small units (5,000–8,000 BTU): 500–900 watts
• Medium units (10,000–12,000 BTU): 900–1,400 watts
• Large units (12,000–14,000 BTU): 1,200–1,600 watts

Since a portable AC unit cycles its compressor, actual usage depends on room insulation, outdoor temperature, and thermostat settings. Higher efficiency models reduce long-term electricity costs.

A 14,000 BTU ASHRAE portable AC is generally used for larger single rooms. Della’s 14,000 BTU models are rated around 10,000–10,100 BTU SACC and are designed for rooms up to 450 sq. ft.

A portable air conditioner is designed to cool a single enclosed space rather than multiple rooms. This is because it continuously recirculates and conditions the air within one area, which makes it inefficient when air flows into adjacent rooms.

In some small apartments or open layouts, a higher-capacity portable AC unit may slightly extend cooling reach, but it will not provide balanced temperatures across separate rooms. For true multi-room cooling, a zoned system like a mini split heat pump is a more effective solution.

Yes. A portable air conditioner can cool a room in a mobile home if the room has a compatible window or venting path for the exhaust hose. It is best for single-room cooling, such as a bedroom, office, or living area. For whole-home cooling or multiple separate rooms, a mini split or central system is usually more appropriate.

No. The Della portable air conditioners in this collection are designed for room cooling, dehumidification, and fan operation. They are a practical choice for bedrooms, apartments, home offices, dorms, and living spaces that need flexible cooling without permanent installation.

If you need both cooling and heating for year-round comfort, compare a mini split heat pump instead of using a portable AC as your main heating solution.

A portable AC can run for long periods when it is properly vented, plugged into a suitable outlet, and maintained. For continuous use, keep the exhaust hose clear, clean the filter regularly, use auto mode when possible, and check drainage needs in humid conditions.
