Annual Maintenance Requirement
To maintain eligibility for DELLA’s Extended Lifetime Parts Warranty or Limited Lifetime Parts Warranty beyond the first year, the customer must complete basic annual maintenance for the registered mini split system at least once every 12 months, with a 60-day grace period.
Annual maintenance may be performed by any qualified HVAC professional. DELLA may recommend DELLA Partner HVAC Installers, but customers are not required to use a DELLA Partner HVAC Installer.
Customer-performed routine care, such as cleaning filters and keeping the outdoor unit clear of debris, is recommended but does not replace the required annual professional maintenance.
The customer should retain a dated invoice, receipt, or service record showing the service date, service provider, service address, and maintenance performed. DELLA may request the most recent annual maintenance record when reviewing any warranty claim after the first year.
Basic annual maintenance should include the following items as applicable:
- Inspect or clean indoor air filters;
- Inspect the indoor coil and blower area for dust buildup;
- Inspect and clean the outdoor coil as needed;
- Confirm indoor and outdoor airflow is not blocked;
- Check the condensate drain for proper drainage;
- Inspect visible wiring and connections for damage or looseness;
- Inspect refrigerant lines for insulation damage, oil stains, or visible signs of leakage;
- Test cooling and heating operation where applicable.
Refrigerant-related work, including refrigerant charging, recovery, leak repair, or pressure testing, must be performed by a properly certified technician where required by law.
For warranty claims after the first year, if the customer cannot provide a required maintenance record, DELLA may request a current inspection or diagnostic report from a qualified HVAC professional before approving the claim.
Failure to provide a maintenance record does not automatically void the entire warranty. However, DELLA may deny coverage for any failure caused by or related to lack of maintenance, improper maintenance, blocked airflow, dirty filters, dirty coils, clogged condensate drains, improper service, improper refrigerant handling, or other maintenance-related conditions.
Routine maintenance, annual maintenance, cleaning, diagnosis, labor, refrigerant, and service fees are not covered by this warranty.
