I have an in-ground pool with another brand of pool heater similar to this, but more powerful since my pool is bigger. Since that works great on my pool, I decided to get this for my son's above-ground pool at his new house. I'm so glad I did because this thing is awesome. I don't know how many gallons the pool is, but it is fairly large for an inflatable pool. This is a lifesaver for his pool. It's super easy to plug it in and get it going, so he and his girlfriend went from never wanting to use the pool to always wanting to use it. And because it can heat the water to 104 degrees, that turns it into a hot tub (minus the jets, of course). And because we live in Florida and the sun sometimes heats the water up too much, you can even use this to cool the water. It says it can cool it to 47 degrees, but I don't think he'll ever be doing that. Swimming in the Florida springs in the summer feels downright cold, and the water is 72 degrees year-round. I can't comment on how durable it is, but it feels well-made, like it should last a while. They also use it underneath a covered carport so the elements aren't hitting it all day long like the one at my house. I personally think this is a great deal for the price. It's insanely easy to hook up, as there are no special outlets needed, and it heats up the water really fast. And it is quiet enough to not be an issue at all, even with it right next to the pool.
