This unit uses R454B refrigerant. This unit comes pre-charged with R454B refrigerant for up to 24.5 feet of lineset. If your installation does not exceed this length, no additional refrigerant is needed.

What is the difference between R454B and R410A?

R454B is a new-generation eco-friendly refrigerant that complies with EPA regulations. It can replace the original R410A models, offering better performance and greater energy efficiency.

Can I get longer extensions for this installation kit?

Yes, you can purchase a longer lineset separately. If you buy it together with the Single Zone Mini split system, you’ll receive a 10% bundle discount. Please note, if the extended lineset is longer than 25 feet, additional refrigerant will be required. Make sure to consult a professional HVAC technician for proper installation.

When the unit is in auto mode, what will the room's temperature be maintained at?

In auto mode, the unit automatically switches between cooling and heating to maintain the set temperature. You can adjust the target temperature manually—typically between 60°F and 86°F —depending on your comfort.

Do the condenser lines come pre-vacuumed or do they have to be vacuumed?

The mini split condenser and lines are not pre-vacuumed. You will need to vacuum the system during installation to remove air and moisture before releasing the refrigerant—this is essential for proper operation and longevity. You can use our Rental Kit Service, which includes all the necessary tools for vacuuming and installing your mini split.

We got this unit and installed it in my wife's she-shed. Works great. I did get an experienced installer to do the technical part of the hookup (gas lines), but most of the install is basic handyman-type work to mount it in the building and blow through the wall. Works well on cooling and heat. Very quiet.

Had a problem with the hi pressure fitting leaking externally and it failed to seal after the allen screw open against the stop was able to stop the leak with the cap. I was mad it didn’t work as it was supposed to and not sure how much Freon I lost. I contacted customer support to let them know. They sent a replacement a few days later. So far it is heating just fine everything else was as expected. I would buy from Della again. I got a 23 seer unit for a great price and my solar system likes the easy start and low wattage it draws. Thank you.

I was quoted 15000 by a local HVAC company (disturbing). I turned to Della for an 18000 btu optima single zone system. I went the DIY route and could not be happier with the outcome. All in $1600 for a great and energy friendly little system. I would highly recommend. The rental kit worked as intended. However, the kit included a 1/4 flare by 3/8 flare hose with the vacuum pump. You need a 1/4 to 1/4 flare hose with the rental kit I received for the this 18000 BTU optima. I needed to find the right adapter at the local Ace to complete the negative pressure test. Other than that flawless.

Very easy install. Replaced an old minisplit unit, so electric was already there along with hole to run lineset, drain, and wires. Just had to run vacuum on lines and good to go. So far it is running as it should.
